Omaha, a photojournalist for the New York Times, was in Arizona celebrating his 31st birthday on Saturday when he heard the Cardinals were scheduled to host a Cardinals home game on Sunday.
When he saw the Cardinals logo, he decided to take a picture of it, which he did on his phone.
“I thought it was a cool way to celebrate,” Omaha said.
He tweeted the picture after seeing the Cardinals’ logo on the field, and the Cardinals tweeted back.
“We love @omaha_photography.
Thank you for your support and great photos,” the Cardinals wrote in response.
The Cardinals also tweeted a photo of the jersey Omaha wore that night, which Omaha later posted on Instagram.
“What a night in the city for a young man who’s so passionate about sports and the game of football,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians wrote.
Omaha told ESPN that he and his wife, Stephanie, were “excited” about being in the Cardinals-Redskins game and planning to spend a lot of time at the stadium.
“It’s just a really cool experience for us to be able to spend time with these people,” Omahasaid.
Omahals wedding will take place on Sunday, March 24.
He told ESPN he’s hoping the game will be broadcast live on television, which would make it a good opportunity to get the fans out to the stadium in time for the game.
“This is a great opportunity for me to do my photo shoot and get the fan base excited,” Omahan said.
